The Pre-Interview Process
Everyone has a personal brand. Your story, your brand, needs to be memorable. Unique. Concise. Pepper Leaf assists you in discovering your brand and communicating that story. During this pre-interview phase we will spend time unearthing the skills and experience that translate into interview gold. The Resume
Let’s assume that you have already invested in a resume writer or created one of your own. This document is the first opportunity to make a good impression on a potential employer. It is your should be well structured and easy to digest.
Resume Review
Your ‘professional biography’ is the written communication that advanced you to a phone, virtual, or face-to-face interview. Most interviewers will use your resume as a springboard for the questions they ask. Therefore, to be successful you should be able to articulate and know its contents extremely well. Do your due diligence and devote significant time to this task.
Research the Company
This is a significant step for several reasons. For one, you determine whether the company is a good fit. Secondly, garnering facts about the company will set you apart from other candidates. Your questions about the company will be relevant and specific.
Interview Question Prep
There will be many questions, including behavioral or situational questions so be prepared to articulate responses fluidly in STAR or SBO format.
Role Play
Practice, Practice, Practice! It’s going to take effort to articulate responses. You have already done the work and scripted responses to questions. Put it all together in the format of an actual interview.
Proper Dress
As with your resume, there is only one opportunity to make a first impression. You are expected to ‘look the part’ and adhere to the company dress policy at the interview whether virtual or face to face.
